KATE NELSON
Kate is a professional circus artist with over 15 years experience in aerials and circus arts.
Kate graduated with a Bachelor of Circus Arts from the National Institute of Circus Arts Australia in 2013 emerging as a specialist artist in aerial rope, aerial silks and German wheel. Kate has performed both nationally and internationally with performance credits such as P&O cruises, Impact Artists (UK), Weber Bros Circus (NZ), Strut & Fret Production House, RougePlay Theatre (UK), Opera Australia and White Night Melbourne.
Closer to home Kate founded Calligraphy Circus, a Melbourne based performance company presenting event entertainment and productions with a vintage flare.
Kate has a strong passion for teaching and has been a circus trainer for over 10 years. Additionally, Kate has a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science and is currently undertaking a Masters in Physiotherapy. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and spreading the joy of movement and circus arts.
Alongside performing, Kate also has a strong interest in other creative arts. Kate is a self-taught seamstress, designing and constructing circus specific costumes.
